Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Died in a California Vehicle Accident

The co-creator of Call of Duty, renowned for co-creating the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has died in a vehicle crash in the state of California aged 55.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the development studio that he helped create.

The renowned video game developer passed away following his vehicle was involved in a crash and was engulfed in flames on a motorway in LA on Sunday, US media outlets report.

"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and our hearts are with Vince's family, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his legacy," an official with Electronic Arts commented.
