The young full-back One more assured display by the youngster following his debut versus Serbia. Saka failed to make full advantage of a clever flick over the Albania defence. His position is firmly his already. 7/10

The newcomer His maiden beginning with the national team. Slightly loose on the ball however his whipped set-pieces posed a danger. An effective tempo-setter available to the boss to call upon against teams who drop deep. Cautioned after a reckless foul. Six

Declan Rice Crosses from corners and free-kicks created chances. Was given room to move in left midfield but was in an offside position as the pass came in shooting positions. Given a deserved substitution around the 60-minute point. 6/10

Jude Bellingham Functioned in an advanced role out wide while also contributed with dirty work. Displayed flashes of quality and dragged an attempt wide. Replaced towards the end by a teammate, a fellow player, after being booked. 7

The winger Had England’s top opening before halftime, his strike well saved by the opposing goalkeeper. With Quansah hanging back, it fell to him to offer an outlet out wide yet his deliveries from the touchline were inconsistent. Replaced late in the match. 6/10

The captain The difference-maker scoring 77th and 78th goals in an England shirt. The first a typical close-range tap-in and his next a classy finish with his head after peeling away away from the opposition. Aged 32, he’s only getting better and England have every chance in future competitions with him up top. 8/10

Eberechi Eze Struggled to make an impact on the left flank. Had a good opening following a pass from a teammate but the keeper made the save. Rashford produced a bigger effect in his place. Five
