A Community Cut Off from the World

Following their control of the city under siege for nearly two years, from late summer the militia proceeded to strengthen its dominance and blockade the surviving residents.

Space-based imagery reveal that forces began to erect a enormous berm - a raised earthen wall - surrounding the boundaries of the city, sealing off roads and halting relief supplies.
