Former British Broadcasting Corporation Consultants Undergo MPs' Grilling Following Assertions of Partiality in Disclosed Memo

Previous BBC specialists testifying in front of MPs

We start with questions from Conservative MP the committee chair, who leads the group.

She initiates by providing context to the unauthorized document written by Michael Prescott and printed in a national newspaper.

"It is not my wish for the BBC leaning in any particular direction, My only wish is for it straight, unbiased and equitable," he says.

When asked if he considers the British Broadcasting Corporation is structurally prejudiced, he responds: "No, I do not. It is important to note, a great deal the BBC produces is world class - including informative and fictional shows."

But he adds: "There remains significant effort that needs to be done at the BBC."

A further ex-adviser British Broadcasting Corporation specialist interviewed by the group, Caroline Daniel, says she regards the British Broadcasting Corporation with great importance and that it has a "continuous process and vigorous discourse" regarding dynamic and complex issues.

"Whether the BBC was ready to have a thorough discussion and argument and implement changes?" she asks herself. "From my perspective, indeed, they were."
