The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that draws so many fans into the National Football League

This outcome may have opened opportunities for the Patriots to creep back into a leading position they formerly held, with a schedule that provides them an advantage over their eight and two rivals

Over in the National Football Conference the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to arrange a monster clash next week, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award

Analysis - Simply an Off Day for the Bills?

Did Josh Allen try too much or was it just a poor performance for the Bills?

Could it simply have been an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or something more? That's the question for the Buffalo team to answer

The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were outperformed from the start as the Miami team ran out 30-13 winners in an eye-opening outcome - and display

MVP Josh Allen only achieved the squad's opening first down in the third period and initial scoring in the fourth - admittedly Miami had 10 days to get ready but it was still a significant failure produced by one of the NFL's top offences

Tua Tagovailoa threw two scores but running back Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two scores

Containing the NFL's top rushing attack was crucial too, with Cook and company recording just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the season and just over half their 161.5 yard average

Additionally there were the three crucial ball losses, and the pair from Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the scoring area resulting in a nine minute drive produced nothing, and his final quarter dropped ball that Miami converted to a touchdown just two plays

It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a deficit on defensive side and Josh Allen trying to do too much to dig his team out of it - rather than the composed, disciplined, well-balanced Buffalo team we've seen this year

The Dolphins have served up a bit of everything this year so the jury's out on if this is the beginning of a trend, but for Buffalo they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the Patriots are sneaking into a comfortable advantage at the top of the AFC East

In Focus - New England See Path to Unexpected First Place

Regarding the Patriots, they're among three 8-2 squads in the NFL, all AFC sides, but could they be the best?

One could find flaws in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts really for feasting on the weaker opponents, with just five of their combined twenty-four wins coming against opponents with a positive record - and one example was the Indianapolis beating the Denver

The Broncos beat the reigning champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the final quarter while Indy can ride Jonathan Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's win in Tampa Bay to their prime time success in Buffalo seems like a statement

Their two defeats occurred in new head coach Mike Vrabel's initial three games, with seven consecutive wins, similar to Denver, from that point - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to prepare was significant

Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials continue to be discussed, and he definitely earns credit for courage after taking some savage hits in Tampa Bay but persevering to guide his side to victory

The defensive unit is reliable and first-year running back TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on Sunday with 147 yards and two exhilerating scores of 55 and 69 yards - establishing himself as just the fifth ball carrier to break 22mph this season on his initial touchdown

While you can debate who 'the best' is statistically, the Patriots should be favorites to finish with the top record thanks to their remaining opponents - which includes just a single matchup against a winning team, although a huge one against Buffalo

Traveling to the Ravens is also tough, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Chiefs to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also compete for top seed but encounter the identical challenge) and additionally the Packers on the schedule

The Indianapolis also face the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, San Francisco and two matchups with the 5-4 Jacksonville to contend with. There's a considerable distance to go but the door is open for a surprise number one position in the American Football Conference

Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Set for Week 11 Clash

Two teams with strong arguments to be better than all of the three different eight and two sides are NFC West opponents the Seahawks and Los Angeles, who both put up forty points to reach 7-2 before next week's Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the two in LA

They've both secured four victories in a row, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with top receivers, and defenses allowing under 20 points a game

Both could easily be undefeated as too - especially the Los Angeles as their two defeats occurred in overtime against the 49ers and then that painful defeat in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning field goal with the final play blocked and run back by the Eagles for a touchdown

Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before losing to the final play of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they are genuinely among the best sides in the league

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the season to date

Top Performer - Taylor
