It's tough for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, targeted by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a squad that has won it all.

The fact it required up to Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batters to possess a record if not afforded the possibility.

Finally, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to produce her newest gem.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have followed from 10 attempts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not come up short.

If this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort can be debated.

Many contend the case for championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this innings came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a challenging time because I feel like I lacked timing completely," commented Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive instincts take over and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from there the batsman was on her way.

"The possibility to go out there and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was dismissed her side needed 66 more at one run per ball - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm happy we have the belief to do that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if necessary, we are confident we can achieve it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this tournament need to hear.

During the last week a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this triumph following win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she regretted not playing through the pain.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have postponed thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is likely to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as leader.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
